Itinerary

Day 1

You will be met at the airport by our representative from Altitude Experts Trips & Expeditions who will escort you to the hotel which has been booked in advance for you. You will be staying in Thamel, a tourist hub in Kathmandu. Thamel is bounded by outdoor shops (ranging from local to brand-name shops such as Mountain Hardwear, The North Face, and Sherpa Gear), hotels, bars & restaurants, spas, a few pharmacies, and music shops. In the evening, you will be treated to a delightful welcome dinner at a top-notch restaurant in Kathmandu.

Day 2

After enjoying a delicious breakfast, set out on a fascinating sightseeing tour of Kathmandu’s ancient and culturally rich city. A professional and licensed tour guide will accompany you, ensuring an insightful experience, while a private vehicle will provide a comfortable journey. The day’s exploration includes visits to several UNESCO World Heritage sites: the majestic Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest Buddhist stupas in the world; the sacred Pashupatinath Temple, an important Hindu pilgrimage site; and the iconic Swayambhunath Stupa, famously known as the Monkey Temple, perched on a hill with panoramic views of Kathmandu. You'll also visit the historic Kathmandu Durbar Square, home to the ancient royal palace and intricately carved temples, and the intriguing Narayanhiti Palace Museum, which offers a glimpse into Nepal’s royal history.

Start your journey with an 10-11 hour drive covering 155 km. The route passes through terraced fields, green hills, and small towns, offering scenic views along the Trishuli and Budhi Gandaki rivers, weaving through forested areas, suspension bridges, and waterfalls. You’ll pass charming Gurung villages and rocky paths before arriving at Machha Khola.

The 22 km trail, taking 6-7 hours to complete, ascends gradually through narrow gorges, past the soothing hot springs at Tatopani, and along rugged cliffs. The road is rugged and adventurous, winding through remote areas with breathtaking mountain views, crossing rivers, and passing through villages.
