Muktinath is a sacred pilgrimage site located in the Mustang region of Nepal, at an altitude of approximately 3,800 meters (12,467 feet) above sea level. It is situated at the foot of the Thorong La mountain pass, which connects the Mustang region with the Manang district to the east. Muktinath is revered by both Hindus and Buddhists and is known for its temple complex, which includes a Vishnu temple and 108 water spouts believed to have spiritual significance. The area around Muktinath offers stunning views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks, making it a popular destination for trekkers and pilgrims alike.

Itinerary

Day 1
Start your trek from Kagbeni, a picturesque village situated at the confluence of the Kali Gandaki and Jhong rivers. Trek along the Kali Gandaki River, passing through barren landscapes and ancient Tibetan-influenced villages. Continue to Jharkot, a charming village known for its traditional architecture and historic monasteries. Explore Jharkot village and visit the ancient Jharkot monastery. Overnight stay in Jharkot.

Trek from Jharkot to Muktinath, a sacred pilgrimage site revered by both Hindus and Buddhists. Ascend gradually through the arid landscape, enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.
