Best Season Autumn & Spring

The Everest Base Camp trek stands as one of Nepal's most sought-after and beloved trekking destinations. Each year, numerous adventurers embark on a journey through the breathtaking foothills of the world's highest peak, Mount Everest.

Although Everest is the star of the show, the Everest region showcases the majesty of four other mountains towering above 8000 meters, captivating trekkers with their awe-inspiring presence. Among these, Mount Ama Dablam's snowcapped ridges never fail to enchant with their charm.

The trek to Everest Base Camp begins with a thrilling 20-minute flight from Manthali to Lukla Airport, the gateway to this adventure. As you ascend towards the base camp, you'll pass through traditional Sherpa villages, bask in Himalayan vistas, and immerse yourself in the rich flora and fauna along the trail. Namche Bazaar reached after a steep climb from the banks of Dudh Koshi River, is a vibrant stopover. The Hillary Bridge, the highest bridge on the trek, adds excitement to the journey.

Throughout the trek, you'll encounter historic monasteries, including the revered Tengboche Monastery, offering insights into the local culture and spiritual heritage. The Nangkarchhang viewpoint treats trekkers to a panoramic spectacle of Mount Makalu, Ama Dablam, Cho-Oyu, Island Peak, and more.

Gorak Shep serves as the final outpost before reaching Everest Base Camp, as no settlements exist beyond this point. Here, you'll have the opportunity to witness the famous treacherous mountain and other Himalayan wonders up close. Climbing Kala Patthar rewards you with a stunning view of Everest, along with Everest Base Camp, Khumbu Icefall, Pumori, Lhotse, Nuptse, Thamserku, and other peaks.

After absorbing the grandeur of the region, the trek retraces its steps, descending along the same route as the ascent, concluding this unforgettable journey in the Everest region.

Upon your arrival at Kathmandu's airport, our representative from Altitude Experts Trips & Expedition will warmly greet you and escort you to your pre-arranged hotel in the vibrant area of Thamel. Take your time to settle in and explore the bustling streets, where you'll find various shops, restaurants, and amenities.

Day 2

We will finalize our trip preparations in the morning, including last-minute shopping and packing. Alternatively, we can arrange a half-day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu's UNESCO World Heritage Sites, such as Boudhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple, and Kathmandu Durbar Square.

Due to air congestion at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), which operates a single runway for both domestic and international flights, all flights to and from Lukla are redirected to Manthali Airport in Ramechhap during the peak seasons of spring (April-May) and autumn (October-November). This change, mandated by the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, helps alleviate heavy air traffic at TIA.

In the afternoon, we will begin our journey to Everest with an approximately 4.5-hour private vehicle drive to Manthali. The route follows the B.P. Highway, passing through Bhaktapur and Dhulikhel. We will gradually descend towards Khurkot, where the Tama Koshi and Sun Koshi Rivers meet. Following the Sun Koshi River, we will continue along the Tama Koshi River until we reach Manthali.

Upon our arrival in Manthali, we will check into a resort for an overnight stay and enjoy dinner to conclude the day's journey.

After soaking in the breathtaking views, we descend towards Khumjung, home to the first school built by Sir Edmund Hillary in 1960. Khumjung and the nearby Khunde village are nestled together at the base of Khumbi Yulha and are known as the “green valley” because all the roofs are painted green, except for the monastery, which is red.

Continuing our descent to Kyangjuma, we are treated to spectacular views of the Himalayas, including Everest and Ama Dablam. The jungle around Kyangjuma is home to endangered musk deer and the pheasant, Danphe—Nepal’s national bird. This rich biodiversity, stunning views, and peaceful environment make Kyangjuma one of the best places to stay along the Everest Base Camp Trek.
